4.5.13 I woke up last night to hear the floorboards creaking. I could hear your soft footsteps. Don't pretend you weren't there. Don't pretend you didn't eat the cookies in the cabinet, heated a mug of cocoa for a midnight snack, ate it while you pet the cat. He must have been happy to see you again. You probably checked on me while I was sleeping, wanting to know if I looked happy, I probably didn't. It must have killed you to see me like that, with pieces of you scattered everywhere, paintings and books and letters. I can imagine you sitting on the floor with my poetry, wondering how much could be about you.  I hope you realized I still
